Lightbreak is an exciting new project funded by ECLAS through the Scientists in Congregations grant programme.
The project aims to develop an escape room activity, bringing science and faith into the same room and finding connection. To give space to take a ‘light break’ from normal routine. To explore and experiment. To ask questions, and to seek answers. To build great problem solving and communication skills. And, most importantly, to have fun doing so!
We have lots of events planned, so please do come along! No prior knowledge of either science or faith is required to enjoy Lightbreak activities.

ECLAS has awarded 96 Scientists in Congregations grants since 2016.
ECLAS is an ecumenical project based at St John’s College, Durham University, in partnership with the University of York and the Church of England. ECLAS also has hubs in India, Kenya, Poland, and Singapore. Its driving research question is: ‘How does context give challenges and opportunities for equipping Christian leadership in an age of science?’
